My 5 Go-To Skirts This Fall: Styles I’m Loving Right Now

My 5 Go-To Skirts This Fall: Styles I’m Loving Right Now

While the mini is a year round staple, it really takes centre stage come Fall. Paired with a knit and a good pair of boots its screams cozy and looks effortless. They’re my my Fall staple, and I’m rounding up a few I’ve been loving lately.

1. The Classic Pleated Mini Skirt

PLEATED SKIRT SWEATER BAG

This pleated mini is the kind of skirt that always comes through, no matter the occasion. Its super low rise which gives it a fun, carefree vibe, while the smooth, lightly structured fabric made from eco-friendly materials makes it a feel-good piece to wear. Plus, the plaid print gives it that quintessential fall look. I love styling this skirt with a fluffy long-sleeve polo sweater and sleek ankle boots for a look that’s equal parts cozy and chic. Add a black hobo shoulder bag, and you’ve got yourself the perfect outfit for a day of exploring or brunch with friends.

2. The Sleek Trompe L’oeil Skirt

PLEATED SKORT | LEATHER JACKET | BOOTS (SIMILAR)

This skirt may look simple at first glance, but the little details—like the trompe l’oeil piped pockets and fancy buckle—are what truly make it stand out. I’m loving how it sits mid-thigh, striking that perfect balance between playful and polished. It’s an easy go-to when you want something that feels refined but still has a fun twist. I’d pair it with a classic white blouse and some black knee-high boots, keeping things minimal but still making a statement.

3. The Versatile A-Line Mini

There’s something about an A-line mini skirt that never goes out of style. It’s simple, timeless, and fits like a dream. The duo pockets give it a subtle utilitarian vibe while keeping the look polished. I love throwing on this skirt with a chunky knit sweater and loafers for a casual day look. You can easily transition it into night by swapping the loafers for heeled ankle boots and adding a sleek leather jacket. It’s one of those wardrobe staples that always works, no matter the occasion.

4. Carla Low Waist Wool Skirt

 SKIRT (SIMILAR)  | BOOTS

Let’s talk about this skirt, it adds a timeless touch to your fall wardrobe with its flattering A-line silhouette and luxe wool blend. Laurie styled it effortlessly with a white tee, an oversized brown sweater draped over her shoulders, knee-high leather boots, and a chic hobo bag. This skirt is perfect for day-to-night wear— for a dinner with friends or to add a Brown color palette to your look. I can see it, with either a coat or blazer or keep it casual with chunky sneakers for a versatile, sophisticated look.

5. The Wrap Midi Skirt

HAVAIANA SLIPPERS | MIDI-SKIRT | TOP

The love for baked treats is almost matches my look for skirts! This wrap midi is my go-to for when I want something a little more elevated, but still super comfortable. The asymmetric hemline and D-ring belt detail make it a standout piece, and the longer length is perfect for those chilly fall days. My trusty Havaiana slippers were paired with this look, and I love it, bit I would also pair this with an oversized knit cardigan and ankle boots—effortless and chic, but still cozy enough for all-day wear.

Denim To Live In

Denim To Live In

Denim is part of my everyday life and as such is high on my ‘needs to be comfortable’ list. If I’m living in it, it needs to live with me. I spend a lot of time on-the-go so I’m all about well-styled clothing that lends itself to an active lifestyle, which is why I eagerly jumped aboard the launch of Mavi’s new collection, ‘Indigo Move‘.

When it comes to my denim, fit is everything. If I’m going to be in the same pair of jeans for 14 hours a day I need them to feel like a second skin, if I’m going from day to night I need them to look polished, if I want to eat an onion bagel with cream cheese for lunch I need them to understand this.

The Indigo Collection caters to all of the above and I can personally attest to it’s suitability for long work hours, impromptu naps and polished appearances alike.

How To Cheat The Trend

How To Cheat The Trend

For those days where you simply want to wear a t-shirt and jeans, I’ve learned to practice the lazy mans approach to incorporating trends. Cheat pieces if you will, that play on the trends without fully diving in i.e. pops of colour and a la mode accessories.

The scarf for example is no break through item, it’s as basic as the day is long, but worn in an on-trend print or colour it does the trick for those days when you just don’t give AF.

Sunglasses are another no brainer. Stock up on a few inexpensive pairs in the trending shapes and colours and they’ll elevate your outfit effortlessly.

Editor’s note: This strategy works even better when paired with a friend who is nailing all trends consistently (@cheraleelyle).
