One of the things I love about clothing is it’s ability to transport you to a different time and place, to create a mood, elicit a feeling and kindle your imagination.

Summer has officially arrived here in the Great North and for Canadians this means long hot days spent cottaging by the lakes, enjoying golden sunsets and the incredible landscape this country has to offer.

A couple weeks ago I was lucky enough to escape the city with the very talented Jeff Shuh. We headed north to Kincardine, Ontario where we spent the day exploring the country side along the shores of Lake Huron.

Stepping into this field I was suddenly lost somewhere in the pages of a Jane Austin novel, charmed by the nostalgic feel of the country side and elegant simplicity of this soft linen dress. With their summer collection Aritzia has captured the essence of long ago lazy days, evoking feelings of romance and dignified leisure reminiscent of a simpler time.

This is the first of five sets of images that Jeff and I created, so stay tuned for more stories.
