Let’s be honest, on the day to day we’re all pretty hard on our own personal style – we have “nothing to wear”, we’re continuously making lists of pieces we’d like – neigh, need to buy and we’re constantly lusting over the outfits we dig up on Instagram and Pinterest. Yes I am generalising here, but after 28 years of being female I know what it’s like. That being said, a couple of years ago I came to this realisation:

It doesn’t have to be perfect.

One of the biggest turning points for me with my personal style was when I stopped trying to achieve perfection and decided to just own it.

Instead of worrying if I’ve put together the best combination, or wishing I had that other pair of shoes, I get dressed (yes this still includes a few changes) but once I’m out that door, I take on the day without second guessing it.

Of course there are still times I don’t love what I’m wearing, but committing to my looks has made a huge difference in the confidence I have with my personal style. So whenever I’m starting to wonder why the hell 6AM me thought sneakers and ripped jeans were appropriate for my 12PM meeting, I just say to myself, “Whatever Lor, own it.”
