I think we can all agree how essential a quality dress shirt is for any wardrobe. Whether you’re consciously building a capsule wardrobe or continually collecting beautiful pieces, it is my opinion that the value of a good shirt is immeasurable.

A couple months ago I was introduced to a brand who’s sole ambition is to offer the perfect silk shirt. The Fable, offers a small range of button downs, each defined by its unique colour, all boasting a relaxed, flattering fit. And it gets better. From hand selecting the fabric, to dying of the buttons, each detail of the design process is carefully considered and perfected by the designer herself. In today’s world of fast fashion and mass production this kind of organic design is seemingly becoming a thing of the past, making labels like The Fable it all the more valuable. While we can’t ignore the convenience and affordability of fast fashion, for me, it will never replace the luxury of wearing a piece that was created and not just made. After all, isn’t that the very essence of “fashion”?
